Mickey Pumpkin Pie Pops

Food always tastes better if it’s shaped like Mickey, because you feel like you are there celebrating whatever it is with Mickey Mouse himself! I’ve been on a pumpkin everything kick and I’m not hating it. So the other night I decided to make us some Pumpkin Pie Mickey shaped pops. It was a huge hit with the boys! I’m actually thinking about making some for an upcoming PTO meeting if they will let me! I mean whats a better way to make a bunch of grumpy women who are exhausted smile? These treats turned out to be so delicious and extremely easy to make, I would imagine if you would find them at Disney they would definitely look and taste like these! Enjoy!

Fall Bucket List

Fall is a wonderful time full of Pumpkin Spice everything, and cute fall colored cardigans. The normal fall things we do is lay around the house and watch Hocus Pocus, while of course, that is still something we will be doing this year I want to spice it up a little and do more Fall activities! Florida is probably one of the worst states when it comes to Fall because it never really happens here. So doing some of what we put on the list will hopefully make it feel a little more like Fall to us! Hope it does for you too! Enjoy.

DIY Elegant Disney Tangled Wedding

To get married at Disney is a dream come true, and I had been playing my wedding since I was 16. I’ve always wanted to get married in front of the Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World. But unless you have over 180k that is just not happening. We got married at the beautiful Iola Lakeside Events venue who went above and beyond to help our day be perfect! Our Theme was the Disney movie Tangled, one of my favorite movies. I want to share with you guys today how we made our wedding Elegant like a wedding at Walt Disney World but easier on your pockets!

Our colors were

  • Light Purple
  • Gold
  • Light Yellow

Groom and Groomsmen

We decided to put the groomsmen in a light purple dress shirt, with dark grey dress pants, and a light yellow tie.  James was in a full dark grey suit with the light purple shirt and the yellow tie as well. We got the suits from Jcpennys and all the ties is from Amazon for only $1.50 each, Awesome deal!

Bridesmaids

The dresses for my lovely bridesmaid was bought from Davids Bridal, and I let the girls just get white heels. They all looked beautiful!

Flower Girl and Ring Bearer

Alice my beautiful flower girl we put in a Rapunzel dress and shoes from Jcpennys in the Disney section.

And our Ring Bearers were our sons and we put them in two matching cute suits that matched the guys too and we bought those at Jcpennys as well. Which was actually really hard to find even though we bought them right before the wedding right around Easter.

Bride

I went with a Rose gold colored ball gown. My beautiful maid of honor and parents bought it for me at David’s Bridal after they saw how much I was in love with it! It went perfectly with the colors and theme. I definitely felt like a princess in this dress!

Now to the more Disney Tangled theme.

Tables

My mother made all of the flowers for each table from flowers at the Dollar Tree. She took the Square foams pieces and stuck the flowers in according to what she thought looked good! You definitely can turn Dollar tree flowers into beautiful centerpieces!

The taller lantern candles were the Long-Stem Glass Tealight Candleholders from the dollar tree and I printed and hot glued the flag from the movie to the outside of the candleholder, and placed a little tea light in the middle!

Drink a lot of wine, or know a few people who do? Ask them for their empty wine bottles. We used wine bottles and spray painted them light purple and went and found some tree branches that had already fallen to the ground and spray painted them gold and put them in the wine bottles to give it that “woodsy” feeling!

The table runners my mom found at a thrift store, but they really just are some fabric that you can find at Joann’s! Pulled the whole table together!

Guestbook

For our guest book we used an old window and etched the Tangled castle with lanterns flying in the sky, and our guests signed around it with gold paint markers. Making it a beautiful addition to our home and a great way to remember who was all there to celebrate our big day!

Cake or Donuts?

Cake and Donuts are what we did, the cake was for us but we had my grandfather make Donut stands made from an inch thick piece of wood and wooden dowels and we stacked Publix Donuts which everyone actually preferred to eat! I mean who doesn’t like a delicious Donut?

Cake stands were made from a candlestick holder and a clear glass plate found at the dollar tree glued to each other. Super easy and inexpensive way to have cakes stands!

Bride and Groom table

This was probably one of my favorite tables of the night, my parent’s handmade the Tower from the movie as one of the key focus points of our table! It was beautiful, and I’m definitely going to have my mom tell me how they made it and write another post for you guys so hopefully, you can make your own! The Mr & Mrs was from Amazon for only $16 dollars! Find it here.

I honestly could go for hours and talk about our wedding, but ultimately we made a DIY wedding look like it was planned by the professionals! I definitely couldn’t have done it without my wonder Bridal party and my parents most of all! I hope you loved it as much as I do! Future of Epcot Rides

Over this past weekend was the D23 Expo which was at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The D23 Expo is basically a Disney geeks dream from upcoming Disney store products coming out to new information about Disney parks updates!

Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts released some exciting news for Epcot over the weekend. The first thing he talked about was a new ride that is inspired from Disney’s popular movie Ratatouille! Race through Gusteaus five star restaurant to try to get to safety, all at the size of Remy from the movie! How awesome does that sound! This attraction is going to be past the Eiffel Tower in the France Pavilion of the World Showcase! We’ve got some Concept art from Disney, and from the looks of it , its going to be amazing!

Another awesome announcement is of another attraction in Future World in Epcot, it is the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, it’s inspired by the space world of Guardians of the Galaxy! The ride is suppose to go with the concept for future world of space travel! How freaking awesome is that? Becoming a huge GOTG fan the whole family is sure to love this ride! This new attraction will take the place of Universe of Energy that’s closing this year on August 13th. Sad to see it go, but so excited for this new ride and adventure coming to us here at Walt Disney World.

Fastpass must haves at Disney World

Disney has had this awesome idea where you can by pass the long stand by line and get on the ride faster, it’s called the Fastpass.. Say it with me … Oooooohhhh, Ahhhhh. It is quite awesome , especially when the line is two hours long during the summer months.

In Disney World you can set up your Fastpass on the “My Disney Experience App” if you have your ticket or pass. You can schedule up to 30 days ahead with your ticket, or pass, or if you book a Disney resort you can book your Fastpass up to 60 days ahead of time. You can add up to 3 Fastpass experence’s on the app, then when you complete all of them, you can add 3 more and so on.  Here are the Fastpass must have’s.

Captain America M&M Sugar Cookies

The Fourth of July is just days away! When I think of this hoilday the first thing that comes to mid is the great people who are over seas and at home protecting us so we can live in this free country, but Disney wise i think of Captain America. I mean you cant get more patriotic then him! From his Suit, to his shelid it all just screams America! SO to celibrate our great nation in a Disney styled way I made Captain America M&M Sugar Cookies!!!
a27149_2a4f2982ceba4828937f2c7eaf1ff4d4

What you will need:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1-1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • red food color
  • Blue mega M&M’s

    What to do:

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In a bowl sift together flour, baking powder & salt.
  3. In another mixer bowl with paddle attachment – beat butter until soft! (or use a Hand Mixer)
  4. Add sugar & beat until light & fluffy.
  5. Add in eggs one at a time – make sure you beat after each one.
  6. Add vanilla
  7. Add dry mixture & slowly beat in until combined all together.
  8. Remove half the dough & wrap in plastic wrap.
  9. Flatten out to 4×4″ piece &  refrigerate.
  10. With the rest of the dough beat in food color to your desired pigment. I added close to 40 drops of gel color to get this red.
  11. *Also- adding this much color will make your dough super sticky. You may want to coat hands in powdered sugar or flour for easier handling.
  12. Remove red dough & separate into 2 equal parts. Wrap with plastic & refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
  13. After it has chilled – remove one of the red dough packs
  14. Place between 2 layers of parchment & roll our to a large rectangle
  15. Remove top layer of parchment & roll dough into a log. This will be your center!
  16. Wrap back up with parchment & put in freezer while you work with the next layer.
  17. Remove your white dough from refrigerator & roll out in the same way you did the first batch.
  18. Once you have a thin, even rectangle – place your red log on the white dough & roll into a larger log.
  19. Repeat these steps for the final red dough.
  20. When you are done you should have a large red log
  21. baking sheets with parchment paper
  22. Take the log & slice it into 1/4 inch rounds
  23. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart so you dont risk them touching
  24. Bake 9-11 minutes
  25. Right when you remove from oven – place your blue M&M’s in the center before the cookies cool down!

If you enjoy cookies like my family does these will be a hit ! I hoep everyone have a amazing Fourth of July, Stay safe and smart! Also from my family to yours thank you too all our Service Men/ Women for protecting us.

Maui’s in a Disney Park!

Okay Okay so he’s in Shanghai Disney Resort, but its a start right? The Demi God of the wind and sea from the movie Moana that came out in 2016, was pictured by Insatgram user Jessiiieowl. She stated on her post that Maui and the Chiefs Daughter Moana was in the new Summer Blast Castle Show in front of the beautiful Enchanted Storybook Castle.

There is no update on the Shanghai Disney Resort page if he will become a regular Character meet at the new park that opened up in June 2016. It is stated that the Stage show “Golden Fairytale Fare” that the Summer Blast Castle took the place of is currently undergoing maintenance.  There is also no update from Disney if Maui will becoming to the states at Disneyland Resort in Califormnia, or Walt Disney World in Orlando anytime soon.

We definitely have our fingers crossed that the Hero to all will becoming state side soon!  Do you like our Disney News Updates? Let us know, leave a comment below!

Disney’s Monster’s Inc. Cake Jars

Bentley has always loved the movie “Monster’s Inc” and “Monsters University”. His first birthday was actually themed as Monsters Inc. Loving this movie, we decided to have a movie night, and I thought making some Monsters Inc. inspired food would be an awesome bonus.

a27149_fed4c19acd0a4a58a003fbce29bcdd0e-mv1
 What do you need:

Mason jars
Vanilla cake mix and recipe ingredients (water, oil, and eggs)
Vanilla frosting
Food coloring (neon green, neon blue, purple)
Small pastry bag and hairy icing tip

What to do :

CAKE JARS:
  • follow instructions on the cake box and make your cake mix.
  •  After you have your cake mix already separate cake mix into 3 bowlsTake you neon food coloring and mix in Blue into one bowl, Green into one bowl, and in your smallest bowl use purple food coloring.
4. Begin filling jars. For the Mike jar, fill jar halfway with green cake mix. For the Sulley jar, add a layer of blue cake mix, then add small drops of purple cake mix on the sides. Continue adding purple spots as you layer in blue cake mix. Do not fill more than halfway.
5. I baked mine for about 20 Minutes , but keep watch on them cause they can become brown on the bottom if you cook them too long.
6. Let cakes cool completely before icing.
7. For the Mike cake put a quarter dot of icing in the middle for the white of his eyes, and using the blue food coloring  make blue icing and  put a dime size dot on top of the white icing.
8. Making Sully use the pastry bag , put the rest of your blue icing in the bag and pipe the icing on the cake making it look like hair, or use a grass /hairy icing tip.
9. In a separate pastry bag using the purple icing repeat step 8.
10. Serve and enjoy!

Now if you have any cake mix left , make some cupcake with them! Just put the cake mix in cupcake liners , in cupcake pans the same way you did the mason jars (only fill half way) , bake for as long as the box says too and icing just like you did for the mason jars! Serve and Enjoy! These are even good for those mom who wants a snack on the go! Wont be disappointed.
Make them and tell me what you think! Leave a comment below!
